  • "This is crazy! They're literally making this up as their going along.
They are destroying our City centre and there is nothing that we can do to stop this madness.
Is it me? Is it us? Perhaps we are a bunch of moaners and groaners who see this entire project through the wrong bloody lens!
This is economic madness and there is no sense, reason, common purpose or any plan whatsoever that is going to bring life into High Town."

TK Maxx leaving Hereford city centre

TK MAXX is the latest retailer sold on Hereford’s old livestock market development, site developers Stanhope confirmed today (Wed).

Kate Bourne, for Stanhope, exclusively revealed to the Hereford Times that TX Maxx had had been looking to re-locate and would have “left town” if the opportunity to relocate had not been available – citing the restrictive nature of their current Maylords store as  the main reason.

Next – located alongside TK Maxx in Maylords - takes up temporary residence in the Salmon Retail Park on Holmer Road while OLM construction is completed, expected to be in the summer of 2014 at the earliest.

Stanhope has again assured local businesses that attracting new retailers to the site was central to their plans, and that council restrictions ensured a number of High Town businesses would be unable to make the move.

Reaction  among those city centre businesses remains mixed; some concerned over the disappearance of high street staples, others keen to expand on the larger sites offered by the new project.
