A MAN in his 80s has been taken to hospital with chest pains following a crash in Bromyard this afternoon.

Emergency services were called to Victoria Avenue off the A44 at 1.30pm following a collision involving a car and a horsebox.

Crews and a doctor gave the man oxygen and stabilised his condition before working with the fire service to carefully extricate the man from the car.

After around an hour, the man was released from the wreckage and immobilised with a neck collar and spinal board, before being flown to Worcestershire Royal Hospital.

Two women from the second vehicle did not require hospital treatment.

Eye-witness reports state that two horses that were in the horsebox are uninjured.
