Local business to be celebrated with special award

THE county’s top businesses are to be commended following the launch of a special award.

The Diamond County Award has been set up to celebrate last year’s achievements in Herefordshire and will honour firms that have demonstrated a commitment to making a positive difference in the local community.

“Following on from the success of the Diamond Day awards held last year to commemorate the Queen’s visit to Herefordshire, we want to recognise and celebrate local businesses which go that extra mile to add value and improvement to the quality of life for people in the county,” said  Herefordshire Council chairman Councillor Olwyn Barnett.

“It is an unfortunate fact that often this level of commitment and determination goes unrecognised, but this award aims to readdress this imbalance.”

People can nominate their chosen business or businesses up until Friday, March 15, by visiting herefordshire.gov.uk/ council_gov_democracy/ council/62818.asp.
