Follow in footsteps of famous poets
THE well-trodden paths of poets around Dymock, near Ledbury, form the route for a new fundraising run this weekend.
The Poets Paths Potter is being held on Sunday and includes three courses of eight, 16 and 26 miles through rural countryside made famous by the Dymock poets in the early 20th century.
The event has been organised by sports entrepreneurs Ed and Phil, and proceeds after costs will be split between Dymock Parochial Church Council, to help pay for a new roof, Gloucestershire County Council, to help pay for the paths’ upkeep, and the charity, Sport For Good.
Anyone turning up on the day should be at Dymock Cricket Club for 8.30am. To mark the event’s literary heritage, there will be a reading by poet and runner Kathy Tytler before the start.
