LOCAL cats will be grateful for the way that a pensioner chose to mark his 65th birthday, last weekend.
Paul Newton, aged 65, of Hasnett Road, hosted a party with a difference at Ledbury’s Royal British Legion Club.
He requested donations for his chosen charity, the CatsProtection League, and a sum of £102.03 will now go to the organisation’s adoption centre in Allensmore.
He said: “We also had a great night!” “I would also like to thankmy wife, Joan, and her sister, Yvonne,for their partinorganising the food and decorations.”
