CLAY and play have helped to make attractive new talking points at a local school, thanks to the inspiration of nursery class children.

During the last 12 weeks, youngsters, parents and staff at Ledbury Primary School Nursery have worked together with Jon Williams, of Eastnor Pottery, to investigate and experiment with clay making.

Early years teacher Andrea Davies said: “The children have loved the hands-on exciting experience of modelling using different techniques and tools.

“They were even able to use the potter’s wheel to make a variety of pots, boats and bowls. Everyone worked together to make three large outdoor planters that will be placed outside the nursery as a celebration of their teamwork.”
