A FLEET of brand new buses will be rolling around Herefordshire from June thanks to a £2million investment by Stagecoach.
The company is putting ten low-floor, double deckers on routes in Hereford, Ross-on-Wye and the Forest of Dean.
Managing Director for Stagecoach West Ian Manning called the move “one of the biggest investments recently in public transport in these areas.”
Passengers will no doubt be keen to see what colour the “striking new livery” is – designed by the Stagecoach’s very own style gurus – however there is no doubt company are all about green.
The company - which runs 7000 vehicles around the UK - invested over £3.5 million in 19 brand new ‘Enviro 400’ buses in 2012/13 as part of their campaign to encourage people to leave their cars and hop on a bus.
“We believe that this enhancement will deliver a much-needed boost for bus provision whilst playing a vital role in sustaining the environment,” said Mr Manning.
“Our message to residents in these areas is simple – leave your car at home and go by Stagecoach bus instead!”
