Jazzy Norman blows his own trumpet

Ladies and Gentleman, on trumpet.... Jesse Norman Ladies and Gentleman, on trumpet.... Jesse Norman

BILL Clinton had the sax, Tony Blair was a guitar man, and now Herefordshire MP Jesse Norman is the latest politician to show off his musical side.

Mr Norman did his best Louis Armstrong on trumpet for the parliamentary band ‘MP2+2’ at a London event that raised over £100,000 for Macmillan Cancer Support last week.

Leaving their problems in parliament, the Conservative MP jammed with Liberal Democrat MP John Hemming and Labour peer Lord Glasman - keeping the capacity crowd’s feet tapping over dinner with a set of jazz classics including the appropriately titled ‘Blue Moon’.

And Mr Norman – Director of legendary music venue the Camden Roundhouse – will no doubt hope that his under-fire Chancellor, set to deliver a critical budget tomorrow, will not be left “standing alone...without a dream in his heart.”
