Help to run our poetry festival

MORE volunteers are need to help one of the UK’s leading poetry festivals run smoothly this year.

All manner of opportunities are available to get involved with Ledbury Poetry Festival, which runs from Friday, July 5 to Sunday, July 14, from stewarding events to helping out in the hospitality area.

Festival manager Victoria Patch said: “Everyone seems to enjoy it – it is a very sociable event – and a chance to make new friends as well as seeing some wonderful poets for free and it is a great way of getting the whole community involved in the festival.

“There is also the festival party on the last night to say thank you to everyone involved.”

The search is also on for people willing to provide bed and breakfast for the visiting poets, with the town’s hotels often being full to bursting during the summer event.
