Woodland death in Storridge near Malvern "not suspicious"
THE death of a man whose body was found in woodland near Malvern is not being treated as suspicious.
Police were called to the incident near the New Inn at Storridge on Hereford Road on Wednesday afternoon.
The man’s body was found in woodland close to the pub and he is believed to be local to the area.
A spokesman for West Mercia Police said the death was not being treated as suspicious and the case had been handed to the Herefordshire Coroner while investigations continue and an inquest is expected to be opened next week.
The man, who has not been identified, was dead when found at the location.
Several police vehicles were spotted at the scene on the main Worcester to Hereford road from mid-afternoon but mystery surrounded the cause of the activity for several hours.
A lane next to the pub and leading to Norburys Norrest Fruit Farm was closed off and an ambulance attended the scene but the woodland was not part of the farm.
