Summer fete is centre first
1:00pm Wednesday 14th August 2013 in News
MALVERN’s newest community centre is inviting everyone to its first ever summer fete.
The Malvern Vale Community Centre opened its door earlier this year at the heart of the development on the former North Site.
Now the centre is preparing to welcome people to the centre for the fete tomorrow (Saturday).
Running from 2pm to 8pm, the event promises something for everyone.
There will be activities and entertainment for children of all ages, including sports, fairground games, face painting, animal encounters, puppetry and magic.
Grown-ups might also enjoy the bar/café, market, pig roast, information stands and drumming workshop from Drum Love.
Prizes for the raffle will include tickets for West Midland Safari Park and Birdland. Malvern Vale resident Les Wright will be DJ-ing.
Tom James, chairman of Malvern Vale Residents’ Group, is hoping for a good turnout on the day.
He said: “We’ve got great facilities here and we’ve put together a day that we’re hoping lots of people will come along to and enjoy.”
The event has been organised by Malvern Vale Residents’ Group, with support from Festival Housing and YMCA, and funding from councillors Jan Marriott, Graham Myatt, Julian Roskams and John Raine.
Charles Church and Greenbelt Group have also sponsored activities.
