MP Harriett Baldwin has been getting to know Worcestershire’s new official health watchdog.
The West Worcestershire MP met Peter Pinfield and Simon Adams, chairman and chief operating officer of Healthwatch Worcestershire respectively, to discuss how the new organisation will be looking out for the county’s health.
Healthwatch has been set up assess the work of local health service providers based on the evidence of patients. It will also work with the new GP-led clinical commissioning groups to ensure the best possible services for the county.
As Worcestershire’s official health watchdog, Healthwatch is backed by a Government budget of £321,000.
Mrs Baldwin, who represents West Worcestershire, said: “As an MP, I hear and see a wide range of constituents who have things to say about local health and social care services.
“I look forward to working with the team in their new role so that I can help people get the very best from all the different health and social care services we have in the county.”
