A CANCER charity has launched an appeal for Worcestershire people to help it raise £15 million – by slurping coffee and munching cake.
Macmillan Cancer Support wants to make this year’s World’s Biggest Coffee Morning fund-raiser its most successful to date.
It is asking people to get behind the cause and hopes they will organise more than 700 events and raise £110,000 towards the national total.
This year’s World’s Biggest Coffee Morning is taking place on Friday, September 27, and individuals, shops and businesses are being encouraged to organise their own events.
Kelly Whitehouse, Macmillan’s fundraising manager for Worcestershire, said: “We want to make sure no one has to face cancer alone but we can’t do it without the amazing people who fundraise for us.
“Last year we raised a record-breaking amount of money and we really hope we can repeat that.
“We’re asking people to once again invite their friends, relatives or workmates to come for coffee to help support us.”
