SOME of the finest work Malvern’s artists have to offer will be going on display to raise money for charity.

The 13th annual Art for Amnesty exhibition will see a huge variety of work from both professional and amateur artists exhibited to raise money for Amnesty International.

Organised by Amnesty supporters in Malvern, the exhibition will be on display at the Quaker Meeting House in Orchard Road between Monday, August 19, and Monday, August 26.

Peter Smith, a town councillor and founder and artistic director of the Autumn in Malvern Festival, has been invited to officially open the exhibition at 11am on Saturday, August 17.

Peter Thomas, of the Amnesty International Malvern Hills Group, said there will be a huge variety of work on display, from paintings and prints to wood carvings, ceramics and textiles.

“Art for Amnesty attracts both local people and visitors to Malvern,” he said.

“Our first weekend overlaps with the West Malvern Arts Festival, with several artists exhibiting at both events, so people can visit and enjoy a real artistic buzz on both sides of the Malvern Hills.”

The exhibition will open daily from 10am until 5pm (2pm until 5pm on Sunday, 10am until 8pm on Tuesday and Thursday).

There is still time for artists to sign up to exhibit and sell their paintings, and anyone interested should visit amnesty.org.uk/ malvern for details or call 07980 504824.
