Heritage properties to open doors for free for limited time
A NUMBER of the county’s most beautiful buildings are to open their gates for free next month.
Locks will be loosened as part of the Heritage open days from September 12 to 15.
Visitors will be allowed access to places not generally open to the public such as Homme House near Ledbury, Garnons near Byford and St Katherine’s Hospital in Ledbury.
There will also be the opportunity to visit the county’s National Trust sites for free while walkers can set off with an urban archaeologist in Hereford.
In Ross-on-Wye, Mary Sinclair Powell will be outlining history with a twist and there will be further talks at Longworth Roman Catholic Chapel in Bartestree and St Peter and St Paul Church in Weobley.
More information on the heritage open days is available from local libraries and tourist information centres.
