THIS was the scene when a combine harvester crashed into a wall causing a main road out of Ledbury to close for nearly three hours.
The green John Deere harvester was being driven along the A449 Worcester Road towards the Top Cross.
As it drew level with the police station, the wheel came off and the harvester hit the brick wall opposite.
Resident Jenny Masefield, who took this photograph, said: “I didn’t see it happen but I spoke to the driver and he told me that the wheel had just sheared off.
“The police had to close the road at the Top Cross and further up Worcester Road while they waited for the recovery vehicle.
“It was quite a job and it took them quite a while,” she said.
Diversions were put in place while the accident, which happened at 11.30am last Saturday, was dealt with. The road was reopened at 2.15pm.
