ONE of Malvern’s leading employers has successfully made it through the first round of its application for £3 million of funding from the Regional Growth Fund.
Malvern Instruments, based at Enigma Business Park, has applied for the money to build a new research and development facility and create nearly 50 new jobs.
Paul Walker, managing director at Malvern Instruments said: “While we are still in the early stages, if successful this will be good news for the company and indeed the region.
“Malvern has long and established roots in the area and a history of employing and developing local talent.
Going forward we are hopeful that this support will contribute to the company’s long-term success as it continues to grow and flourish.”
The news was also welcomed by West Worcestershire MP Harriett Baldwin, who sponsored the grant application.
She said: “The company has been a star performer in our business community.”
Work will now begin on further definition of the project.
Malvern Instruments develops and makes devices to analyse a wide variety of materials.
It has subsidiaries around the world and its products are used in a wide variety of industries.
