LONGTOWN and District Show organisers battled windy weather to showcase the best of rural life on the weekend.
From sheep-shearing to handicraft stalls to the exploits of brick-lifting strongman champ Henry Purdy, secretary Lorraine Watkins said Saturday’s show was all about getting back to traditional skills.
Horse riders were able to jump off before the dark clouds gathered in the afternoon, while the race list for those with two legs included events for all ages.
