Stitched birds adorn exhibition
10:00am Sunday 25th August 2013 in News
THE smiling ladies from the Wednesday Group, Ledbury’s sewing and embriodery enthusiasts, are to hold their second exhibition of work.
Called Sew on and So Forth it will be staged in the town’s Weavers Gallery from September 24-29 with a theme of taking textile traditions from the past and making them part of the future.
Work on show will include stitched book covers, with pieces based on a photograph of Worcester’s riverside looking toward South Quay, a whole host of stitched birds which will fly into the gallery and make it their nest for the week, exhibits made from a fabulous stash of fabric and trimmings given by a fellow textile-enthusiast and a funny story told in stitches.
Many of the pieces in the exhibition will be for sale and on the last day from 4pm to 5pm. There will be a grand sell-off, where buyers of any work bought from the exhibition during the week can collect their purchases.
Exhibition opening times are on Tuesday to Saturday 10am to 5pm and on Sunday 10am to 4pm.
