Charity walk was for Marie Curie
5:00pm Friday 30th August 2013 in News
A LEDBURY woman and her niece put their best feet forward for charity in support of Marie Curie nurses.
Viv Carter is a member of the Ledbury Branch of Marie Curie supporters.
She decided to take on a 10km hike in challenging conditions to raise muchneeded funds for the good cause.
She joined hundreds of fellow fund-raisers in distinctive yellow hats at Margam Park, South Wales, as murky and foggy weather closed in.
Miss Carter who lives in Ledbury, said “My niece, Julie Carter, and I found the going quite tough as it was very wet!
“Conditions were so poor on the hill tops that we had to follow a guide all the way.
“Despite this we had a thoroughly good day.
“I’ve raised more than £150 so far with more promises of money still pouring in all of which will go towards Marie Curie cancer care.”
