Put best paw forward to help Guide Dogs and Royal National College for the Blind
TWO charities are hoping people will put their best paw forward to support them.
The Royal National College for the Blind (RNC) and Guide Dogs are calling on people to take part in a charity walk on Sunday October 6, which runs through the Brockhampton Estate near Bromyard.
Participants can choose from circular routes of one mile, 1.5 miles or 2.5 miles on paths suitable for all ages and abilities.
The event runs from 9.30am until 12.30pm and Ben Rendle, a RNC student and chairman of the Herefordshire branch of Guide Dogs, said ‘ the RNC and Guide Dogs have been instrumental in giving me back my independence and confidence’.
He said: “Without them I certainly wouldn’t be where I am today. The journey I’ve been through since losing my sight has been long and difficult but these two charities have made it a lot easier.
“Both make a huge difference to the lives of many people every year.”
It costs £5 per dog or per family walking without a dog.
Sponsorship forms are available from RNC on 01432 376371 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
Online registration is available at www.rnc.ac.uk/fundraising. All profits from the event will be divided equally between the two charities.
