SCORES of volunteers are needed to deliver a community questionnaire that could help shape Ledbury’s future.

More than 100 public-spirited people are being sought by the Town Plan Steering Group to deliver and collect questionnaires this autumn.

The questionnaire will contain about 100 questions and the aim is to find the views of every adult in the parish on a variety of community issues affecting the town.

If all goes to plan the questionnaires will be delivered and collected in late October/early November and not by September 18 as we reported last week.

Training will be offered to the volunteers in October, who will then be asked to work in pairs and cover about 40 to 50 addresses.

Nina Shields the steering group’s vice-chairman said: “There are more than 4,500 houses in the parish and we will need to visit each and every one of them.

“This is a big task and many hands will make light work of it. It’s now that we need people from throughout the town to join us to help with this part of the project.

“If you can spare some time to help with questionnaire delivery and collection in your street or neighbourhood the town plan team would love to hear from you.”

On the agenda wlll be the main objectives of the emerging town plan.

These include creating a thriving and sustainable market town and the strive to balance the needs of community, commercial, industrial, leisure and tourist interests.

The offices of the town council, library and Master’s House will have contact sheets available where people can leave their details or they call the town council on 01531 632306 or e-mail admin @ledburytowncouncil.gov.uk.
