Graduation time for students at Herefordshire and Ludlow College
STUDENTS at Herefordshire and Ludlow College (HLC) have been celebrating their graduation.
Around 65 students at the college, formerly Herefordshire College of Technology, gathered at Hereford Cathedral for the graduation that marks the successful completion of higher level study.
Learners graduated from a variety of courses ranging from foundation degrees run in partnership with universities, to industry accredited courses such as level five and level seven courses from the Chartered Management Institute (CMI).
Guest of honour Paralympic swimmer Sascha Kindred, accompanied principal and chief executive Ian Peake in presenting learners with their certificates and declaring them graduates.
“What a wonderful celebration of our graduates' success this year - an opportunity to join together with our graduates, their teachers, families and friends to savour excellent educational achievement,” said Mr Peake.
Students celebrated their achievements with the support of more than 400 friends, relatives and colleagues.
Many businesses benefit from the courses as students bring new skills into the workplace.
Rupert Lawrence, business solutions officer at Herefordshire Housing, said: “The level five Diploma in Management and Leadership was a brilliant course.
"I have really enjoyed it and got a lot out of it. I was able to apply a great deal of it to my work and I hope to progress to the level seven course in the new year.
"Today has been a great celebration and it is good to see everyone that I studied with.”
