4:00pm Thursday 10th October 2013 in News
THE five-acre arboretum at Bryan’s Ground, Presteigne, is opening to the public for the first time for autumn colour this year.
Cricket Wood is a new woodland garden and arboretum at Bryan’s Ground. The level site extends to almost four acres, bisected by a stream and divided by vistas and hedges.
David Wheeler and Simon Dorrell (publishers of the gardening journal Hortus) began planting in January 2000, concentrating on autumn colour which will be a blaze of magnificent hues at this time of year.
“This idyllic, quintessentially English garden is filled with horticultural delights, wit and style,”
said BBC Gardens Illustrated magazine.
The garden will be open Saturday to Monday, and from Saturday, October 19, to Monday, October 21, from 2pm to 5pm. Visit bryansground.co.uk for more details.
