Hereford Cathedral Choir will perform on BBC Radio 4 this Sunday
HEREFORD Cathedral Choir will be singing to a larger audience than usual when it broadcasts on the radio this Sunday.
The choir will sing to more than one-and-a-half million listeners when it performs on BBC Radio 4’s Sunday Worship programme at 8.10am.
Geraint Bowen, the Cathedral’s director of music, said the choir is ‘delighted’ to be able to sing to ‘such a large audience’.
He said: “It is the first time for a few years that we have broadcast on this particular programme, although the choir regularly features on Radio 3.
“Members of the choir will be setting their alarm clocks early this Sunday. Split second timing is crucial so that the service ends bang on time at 8.48am.”
As well as the broadcast, the Cathedral choir will embark on a ten-day tour of the USA which begins next week.
