Fire Brigades Union fire fighter strike called off
FIRE and rescue cover across the county will be as normal tomorrow with confirmation that tomorrow’s (Sat) five hour fire fighter strike is off.
Hereford & Worcester Fire & Rescue Service has now received formal notification that the Fire Brigades Union (FBU) has agreed to postpone the strike scheduled for 6.30pm-11.30pm.
Deputy Chief Fire Officer Richard Lawrence said: “We are pleased to hear that positive dialogue has been taking place between the Government and the FBU, with the result that this specific period of strike action has been postponed.
“The Service’s business continuity arrangements for this period of strike action have therefore been put on hold but remain ready to be implemented should the circumstances require,” he said.
