Mayor gets mighty muddy

LEDBURY’S youngest ever mayor Terry Widdows showed he is not only fit for office as he took less than two hours to tackle the notorious Mud Runner Course at Eastnor.
Now Coun Widdows, aged 33, has set his sights on another gruelling and groundbreaking challenge.
In February he will return to Eastnor for the notorious Icebreaker event.
He said: “This event includes the same 10km run, followed by a 20km bike ride through the edge of the hills, and finishes off with a 3km run at the end.”
He said of last month’s Mud Runner event, along an off-road test track used by Land Rover cars: “It was tough, but was extremely good fun to do.
“I have managed to raise £300 for Megan Baker House and finished the course in a time of one hour 58 minutes and four seconds.”
Based to the north of Leominster with a county-wide brief, Megan Baker House, offers conductive education for children suffering from disorders such as cerebral palsy and Parkinson’s disease.
Coun Widdows plans to raise more money for the Megan Baker charity at the Icebreaker event.
