A WOMAN who tried to rob a mother as she pushed her child in a pram may have carried out other offences in Hereford on the same day.

The attempted robbery happened on a footpath that runs between Abbotsmead Road and Northolme Road in Belmont at around 3.30pm on Wednesday, November 20.

A woman tried to grab a mobile phone from the victim's hand before shouting abuse at her and demanding money.

She then attempted to grab the victim's handbag from the back of the pushchair and scratched her face.

The victim called for help and the woman left the scene empty-handed.

A number of people have since contacted police, which officers hope may lead to the identification of the woman involved.

Around an hour before the attempted robbery, a woman boarded a bus from Bewell Street to Belmont and followed a girl in her late teens in Northolme Road. She then pushed her into the road before leaving the area.

Then, at 3.10pm, a woman visited an address in Flaxley Drive and shouted abuse at the homeowner.

She was told to leave and was seen walking in front of traffic in Abbotsmead Road.

The suspect is described as white, between 5ft and 5ft 6ins tall, of medium build, aged between 20 and 27, and has shoulder length curly hair with blonde highlights.
