DAWE Brothers funeral directors are backing Hereford Food Bank by asking people to donate one item from their weekly shop.

Gill Stamp-Hedley, senior funeral director at the Holme Lacy Road branch, hopes people will back the campaign and 'be kind enough to share with someone less fortunate'.

“We know there are people out there struggling to make ends meet, and the importance of having a resource such as Hereford Food Bank in the area has never been greater, especially in the winter months,” she said.

To donate, visit Dawe Brothers branches on Holme Lacy Road or call 01432 340 200.

To support the Ross-on-Wye community larder visit the Gloucester Road branch with donations or call 01989 564 600.

Well good on you Dawe Brothers! Perhaps at long last we might have some media attention focussed on the dire plight of the poor folk who desperately need support from food banks, particularly this Christmas. But don't expect any help from that secretive Aubrey Street Food Bank: the Scientiologists couldn't have created a more inconspicious profile!

Well done Guys, there sadly is a growing need for families to use the Food Banks set up across the county.
At this time of year especially, it's good to support this much needed community group.
