Ledbury Reporter: Two arrested following three drug warrants Two arrested following three drug warrants

TWO men have been arrested on suspicion of drug dealing after police executed three warrants this morning.

The Gorse Hill and Rainbow Hill Safer Neighbourhoods Team led the raids at properties in Teme Road, off Tolladine Road, Worcester, following local residents raising concerns about drug activity in the community.

At one of the addresses, the team uncovered evidence of widespread Class A drug use and evidence of cannabis dealing at another.

They recovered a plastic bag full of what is believed to be cannabis bush, further smaller bags of cannabis prepared for dealing as well as weighing scales and some cash.

A 21-year-old man and 16-year-old boy were both arrested at the scene on suspicion of possession with intent to supply a Class B drug and they are currently in custody at Worcester Police Station.

Sergeant Helen Wain, who leads the Gorse Hill and Rainbow Hill Safer Neighbourhood Team, said: “We want to do all we can to address local concerns about drug use and dealing in Gorse Hill and reassure residents we are doing what we can to tackle the problem.

“Tackling drug use and supply is a local priority and we are always keen to hear from members of the public who can provide information about this and any other criminality in the area.

“We conducted these warrants as a direct response to information provided by local people: we are only as good as our most recent intelligence and we rely on community members to pass on what they know.”

Anyone with information should call the Gorse Hill and Rainbow Hill Safer Neighbourhood Team on the non-emergency number 101 or e-mail ghrh.snt@westmercia.pnn.police.uk.
