A CARTOONIST has ensured his latest work remains close to home.

Simon Cooke has penned caricatures of well-known residents in his home town of Ledbury.

The work is on display at Jenkins’ fruit and vegetable shop in The Homend with prizes on offer for anyone who can name everyone featured in it. It took him about three weeks to draw.

“People have shown a lot of interest,” said Mr Cooke, who is 49 and lives above the Jenkins shop.

“Ledbury is such a well-supported community with businesses looking out for each other.”

Mr Cooke said the first prize, which will be announced by the end of January, is a £90 framed cartoon by Mr Cooke.
