THE SKY will be the limit this Christmas for a top chef.

Mufar Miah, of the Raj Mahal, Fromes Hill, will find himself on board a private Boeing 737 airliner on Christmas Eve, where he will serve up curry for 65 guests of the jet-setting company, Imperial Air Salvage.

Although the airliner, based near Leicester, will not take off, Mr Miah will be flown to the occasion by private helicopter.

And it will not be the first time that Mr Miah has cooked for the business, which salvages airliners for airline companies and also provides stylish air transport for VIPS.

Owner Mustafa Azim Aolad, of Croydon, is a huge fan of Mr Miah’s, in between his job of piloting celebrities such as Anthea Turner and the reggae legend Chaka Demus.

In fact, Mr Aolad and Mr Miah go back a long way.

Mr Aolad said: “In the 1990s, Mr Miah worked as the head chef of the Eye of the Tiger in Bournemouth.

He was very well known for his fantastic cuisine.

“The Eye of the Tiger had catered for the Spice girls, Aswad, Soul 2 Soul, and a many big names in the past. The Eye of the Tiger was very famous and celebrities used to visit there. I recently travelled to Bournemouth to get in touch with chef Mufar Miah and Mozammel Ali who was his assistant back then to cater for a Christmas party on board my own jet. We tracked him down to the Raj Mahal.

“Mr Miah is a really brilliant chef. I've never met anyone else like him, and unless you have tasted his food, you won’t know.

“But I know for a fact that he is one of the finest Indian chefs in Britain.”

Mr Miah still cherishes the photographs he has of the VIPS he has cooked for, including former prime minister John Major but he is modest when responding to Mr Aolad’s high praise.

“Oh, I don’t know about that,” he said. “But I have cooked for famous people, including John Major and Janet Jackson.”

He said of Mr Aolad’s Christmas request: “It is quite a compliment, isn’t it?”

There will be no famous faces on the Imperial Air Salvage Boeing 737 on Christmas Eve. The party is for Mr Aolad’s staff.

The company has been making waves recently in the movie world.

Mr Aolad: “We supply aircraft to the filming industry and we have most recently worked with Warner Bros where two airliners were blown up in his movie in Tom Cruise’s latest movie, Edge of Tomorrow.”
