A MAN was left with facial injuries after he was assaulted while collecting his son from school.

The incident is believed to be part of a long-running dispute and it happened in Yates Hay Road, Malvern, at about 3.40pm on Tuesday as the man and his child were walking home when a couple in a silver/grey people carrier pulled up.

The male got out and began threatening the man before punching him in the face.

A 35-year-old Malvern man has been arrested on suspicion of causing actual bodily harm and was released on police bail pending further inquiries.

PC Frances Thorpe of Malvern police said: “It is believed the people involved knew each other and the incident was part of a long-running dispute.

“However, we are very keen to talk to anyone who was in the Yates Hay Road area of Malvern around the time when this assault took place.”

Anyone with information should call the police, quoting incident number 378s 140114, on the non-emergency number 101.

The guy who jumped out the car, firstly threatened and then punched a dad square in the face needs to be hauled before the courts and have the book thrown at him. Mindless violence delivered in front of a young defenceless school boy is utterly appalling and this thug needs taking off our streets immediately.

It's hard to believe that some people on here appear to be defending someone who can dole out wanton violence in front of a child. Shocking.

The man who was punched, assaulted two 13 year old children outside a shop. Both men are in the wrong but the man who is apparently a victim will hopefully be arrested too. A parent will always defend his child. This is a shame that this hasn't been also put in the story. A dispute is an on going arguement between the two party's. Also people cannot comment really unless they were there. It was a punch of self defence. The so called victim crossed into the road to attack too. It was only one punch. Alot of other people have been bullied by this so called victim and if the authorities had done their jobs in the first place this would never of happened.
