POLICE in Hereford are investigating an unprovoked assault on a young man as he wheeled his bicycle through the city centre.

The 19-year-old was pushing his bike in High Town near the Laura Ashley shop at about 11.45am on January 8 when someone pushed him over.

He fell onto his bike and looked up to see a male teenager he did not recognise standing over him.

The teenager then invited him to have a fight and when the young man did not accept, the teenager walked off into Maylord Orchards.

Anyone with information can call PC Price on 101 with incident number 208s 080114.
