IT'S one down and 13 to go for a Presteigne woman who is raising funds for a Leominster infant.

Louise Price, aged 44, is running 14 races – a mixture of marathons and half marathons – throughout 2014 to raise funds for the family of Freddie Saunders.

The infant has been receiving treatment at Birmingham Children's Hospital since sustaining serious injuries following a car crash which happened on the B4361 at Nordan

And last Sunday Louise took on the Essar four villages half marathon in Cheshire.

"I completed race number one in quite a respectable time of 1:57:28, which is only 22 seconds off my current personal best for the half marathon distance; for the first race of the year I’m very pleased with my time, although hard as it may be to believe, I prefer the full marathon distance.

"The race itself was extremely well organised and a very friendly event. My grandchildren came too to cheer me on and I had a very enjoyable day."

Louise's next challenge will be the Oulton Park half marathon on February 23.

Louise hopes to raise as much as possible to help Freddie’s family pay for his ongoing care.
