HEREFORD faces charging for on-street parking as Herefordshire Council moves to manage traffic flow through the city centre.
The charging option will go out to shoppers and traders as a consultation exercise next month, with findings put to the council's review of on-street parking in the city.
That review is examining a range of options with detailed proposals due in the summer.
Councillor Philip Price, Cabinet Member for Infrastructure said the review would look at the number of street parking spaces and where they are, how current restrictions control parking and whether they are appropriate.
"We need to understand how and what changes might better control traffic flow into and around the city centre to reduce congestion whilst supporting businesses and residents," he said.
