LEDBURY swimming pool is set to be modernised as part of plans for a £9million countywide refurbishment.
The pool, on Lawnside Road in Ledbury, will receive the facelift should Herefordshire Council's cabinet agree the leisure facility funding.
The work would be paid for by a borrowing programme with a repayment through rent by Halo, which runs the swimming pool, meaning taxpayers won't fork out.
Improvement and development works would also take place at Hereford Leisure Centre, Hereford Leisure Pool, Leominster Leisure Centre and Ross-on-Wye Swimming Pool.
“This gives us an ideal platform to deliver first class leisure facilities for the people of Herefordshire, help deal with the long-term maintenance issues affecting the buildings and will help to ensure the financial sustainability of Halo as our long-term partner for these services," said Councillor Harry Bramer, cabinet member for major contracts and assets.
Work on the projects is likely to start this summer.
