RAIL Minister, Stephen Hammond is to visit the county to hear about Ledbury's railway problems.
Ledbury's MP, Bill Wiggin confirmed this week Mr Hammond MP will be visiting his North Herefordshire constituency, on a date still to be announced.
But it is known is that the Government Minister will arrive by train, from London, - hopefully without any delays, and without having to stand up some or all of the way.
Mr Wiggin said: “I am delighted the Minister has decided he wants to see our rail problems first hand.
“I am hoping to arrange the visit as soon as possible and show him all three stations in North Herefordshire – Ledbury, Colwall and Leominster.
“I am confident that once the Minister has seen our problems for himself - such as the need for longer trains and the doubling of the line from Ledbury onwards – he will have a far greater appreciation of my constituents' concerns."
Mr Wiggin added: “After many years working on this issue I am pleased the Minister is now willing to take an active interest in the railways of my constituency."
