AN elderly man found himself trapped in flood water on his mobility scooter near Asda in Hereford this morning.

Emergency services were called to rescue the man who had become stuck in rising flood water on a footpath underneath Greyfriars Bridge at around 8.30am.

Fire crews from Hereford, Worcester and Ross-on-Wye helped to rescue him and ambulance crews checked him over at the scene.

He was not injured and did not require hospital treatment.

Fire crews also rescued two females who were trapped in a car in flood water near Leintwardine last night.

Both were uninjured and were transported home.
