A HEREFORD painting and decorating company could be named the best in the UK after being nominated for a UK Trade Award.
Darren Notley of Darren Notley Painting and Decorating has been nominated for a chance to be named not only the 'Best UK Painter and Decorator' but is now also in the running to receive the overall award, 'The UK's Best Trader 2014'.
Darren covers the whole of Herefordshire and prides himself on going the extra mile to make sure that the customer is happy.
He specialises in private work and does a lot of work with landlords, from decorating single rooms up to complete house decorations.
He said: “It is a great honour to be nominated for this award, especially for a smaller sole trader like myself. I’m sure winning something like this would encourage more work in the future.”
Localtraders.com launched the UK Trade Awards 2014 to promote and champion the work of local traders from around the UK in a bid to try and change perceptions.
All entries will be promoted through its communication platforms in order to encourage local business growth to help the country to get back on its feet.
The top nominees for each trade will be invited to an awards ceremony, where winners will be announced and prizes given out.
Traders being recognised are builders, carpenters and joiners, electricians, painters and decorators, plumbers, roofers, tilers, fence installers, plasterers, window and door fitters, flooring and carpet fitters and landscape gardeners.
Entries received from other local trades will also be considered to receive an award.
All individual winners will then also be in the running to receive the overall winner award and be crowned The UK's Best Trader 2014.
