HEREFORD Cathedral School’s Cantabile Girls Choir has once again reached the semi-finals of the BBC Songs of Praise ‘School Choir of the Year’ Competition and will be competing live at the International Convention Centre in Birmingham on Sunday, March 16, one of only six senior school choirs, from an entry of 140.

Singing with Hereford Cathedral School’s Cantabile Choir in the semi-finals will be Rochester Grammar School, Lincoln Minster School, The Grey Coat School, Godolphin School and Highgate School. Only three choirs will be chosen to progress to the senior school final.

“This is an outstanding achievement for the girls and the school," said HCS head teacher. "My congratulations to them and the very best of luck for the semi-finals.”

Jo Williamson, musical director of Hereford Cathedral School’s Cantabile Girls Choir added: “I am so proud of the girls! Their performances continue to go from strength to strength.”

The semi-finals will be broadcast by the BBC on Sunday, May 4.
