A wonderful lunch with the crew of HMS Ledbury. Glad the beer went down well. Will get some to Portsmouth for you to enjoy when not at sea.— Ledbury Real Ales (@ledburyrealales) February 23, 2014
The Hunt-class mine hunter ship's company yesterday enjoyed a friendly football match against Ledbury Swifts and a reception at the Royal British Legion in Church Street.
Today the crew lined up at the Community Centre, Lawnside Road, to exercise its freedom for only the third time since the honour was bestowed in 2007.
Mayor of Ledbury Terry Widdows and the Lord Lieutenant of Herefordshire, Lady Darnley, took the salute as the parade marched with drums beating, bayonets fixed and colours flying via Bye Street to the High Street.
