POLICE are appealing for information after a teenage girl was allegedly robbed in the city.

The girl was with a friend and a group of other young people in Morrisons car park between 2pm and 6pm last Wednesday when the incident is said to have taken place.

One of the males in the group, who she didn't know, reportedly demanded cash from her and when she refused another person in the group tried to get her to hand over the money.

The male then allegedly approached the girl from behind and took the money from her coat pocket before running away.

He is described as being aged around 15, white, 5ft tall, of skinny build and with black hair.

He has hazel eyes, a large hoop stretcher earring in his right ear and was wearing a black Ramones T shirt, pink/purple bottoms with stars and moons on them and red canvas shoes.

PC Cathryn Blake said: “The teenage girl is very upset about what happened. The male and the other person were very aggressive towards her.

“We urge anyone who saw the incident when it happened or saw the group of young people in McDonald’s at around midday to contact us."

Anyone with information can call 101 quoting incident number 609s 190214.
