THE Worcester Gilbert and Sullivan Society is taking its latest adventurous production on tour.

Around the World with Gilbert and Sullivan is a showcase of many songs from some of the duo's well-loved operettas and it is fitting the society is taking the voyage on HSM Pinafore to Ledbury, Droitwich and Pershore.

Along the journey it is boarded by pirates and in the ensuing battle it runs aground on Utopia, where previous castaways from Mikado and Gondoliers are to be found.

Following much deliberation the ship re-floats back to London via Japan and Barataria.

Rachael Trimm, who is set to become the society's youngest musical director at the age of 29, said: “We are all looking forward to performing this show, romping through some of the best songs in G&S whilst enjoying a fantastically funny script created by our director Christine Davies.”

Around the World with Gilbert and Sullivan stops at Ledbury's Market Theatre on Friday and Saturday, March 21-22 before setting sail for Droitwich's Norbury Theatre on Thursday and Friday, March 27-28 and then mooring at Pershore's Number 8 Community Arts Centre on Saturday, March 29.
