ONE of the county’s newest social enterprises faces closure if it cannot find a new home.
Rose Tinted Rags – a partnership project between Leominster charity ECHO and the Green Eyed Monster arts company – claims Herefordshire Council has told the group to leave its current premises on Aylestone Hill in the city.
The textile-arts centre sells recycled and vintage fabrics and haberdashery, runs arts workshops and provides work placements for adults with learning disabilities.
ECHO chief officer Fiona Ritchie said the group is now appealing for help in finding a new home in a central location.
Fiona confirmed the group would close should it fail to find a new site.
Tony Featherstone, from Herefordshire Council, said Rose Tinted Rags does not have a lease for the site and only a 24-hour notice period is required.
The authority, he added, has instead provided nine weeks notice and is working with the group to find new premises.
