PARENTS who collect their children by car from the John Masefield High School are being asked to arrive fifteen minutes after the last bell.
They are being asked not to enter the car park until 3.30pm, for safety reasons, because it avoid the main bus run.
Head teacher, Andy Evans said: "Recently an increasing number of cars have been arriving between 3.10pm and 3.25pm. T
"This has caused several near misses involving our students, cars and buses. I have consulted the police, governors and other headteachers about this problem and believe that the only viable solution is for us to insist that parents and carers picking up children by car arrive at or after 3.30pm, with immediate effect."
