CAMPAIGNERS in Leominster are celebrating the news that their youth service will be saved.
The Hereford Times has previously reported that the town's youth club was set to close its doors for good at the end of March if new funds were not found.
But an arrangement has been made with Halo Leisure to hold a youth club at Bridge Street Sports Centre – starting from this evening.
The sessions will take place between 7.30pm and 9pm on a Monday and Thursday evening in the function room at the centre, with the hope of eventually moving into a dedicated youth club space in the building.
Volunteers and members of the town council are to set up a management group and a new bank account for the club to ensure its long-term success.
Anyone interested in volunteering, fundraising, or donating equipment for the new centre can can email Will Edwards from Mobile Youth Led Opportunities (MYLO) on will.edwards@hvoss.org.uk or call 01432 343932.
