BRIGHTSTRIPE, the new company heading up h.Art and Sport England projects in Herefordshire, held their official launch last week.

The community interest company has been overseeing elements of the county’s sport and cultural events for 12 months but held an official launch to bring together the project’s partners, and prospective partners.

Based at Hereford College of Arts, Brightstripe Cultural Health was formed out of discontinued departments at the Herefordshire Council.

But, ran as a not-for-profit organisation, the company is now eligible for national funding it otherwise would have missed out on.

Their focus is on developing six areas; communities, culture, health, learning, sports and young people

On the arts side, the team at Brightstripe have just received this year’s applications for h.Art and the Contemporary Craft Fair.

They are also involved with promoting sport and activity in young adults as part of London 2012 legacy scheme Sportivate and have launched a popular Nordic walking programme across the county.
