A NATIONAL nomination makes the two strong development team at Leominster-based Marches Housing Association more than a match for any other in the country.

The team's work sees Marches shortlisted from over 200 entries for the 2014 Housing Heroes Awards.

The awards showcase individuals and teams doing exceptional work in the social/affordable housing sector.

Marches is one of six nominations in the running for the Development Team of the Year award.

The event - organised by Inside Housing magazine and the Chartered Institute of Housing (CIH) takes place at the Exchange Hall, Manchester, Monday June 23.

Marches MD Phil Green said the association was "really proud" of the nomination and the work done to earn it.

Over the past year alone, Marches has completed around 60 brand new affordable homes for rent or shared ownership sale in Herefordshire and Worcestershire without recourse to any Government grant funding.

From its head office in Leominster, Marches manages around 3,000 homes in Herefordshire, Shropshire, Worcestershire and the Forest of Dean.

These include sheltered housing schemes and shared ownership developments as well as rented properties.
