ALTHOUGH they may be too young to taste the produce, children from a Herefordshire primary school learned a lot from their visit to a local cider mill.

Students from Sutton Primary Academy visited Westons Cider Mill in Much Marcle earlier this month, where they learned about the company and got the chance to visit the mill's farm.

Teacher Sarah Watkins said the children got to see lambs and calves and took part in a tractor ride.

She said: "This scheme is excellent because it gives the children the opportunity to learn first-hand about farming and about a successful local business. The way that the day is structured means that it helps primary teachers deliver parts of the science curriculum. We are extremely grateful to be able to take part each year.”
